Konstanz

Before returning to the US in August, ME and I went to Konstanz Germany to visit with relatives.

Konstanz is a beautiful town on the Bodensee. The Bodensee is a large lake in the middle of Europe surrounded by Germany, Austria and Switzerland. My cousin Ulrike and her husband Wolfgang live just outside of town overlooking the lake. We have visited them many times over the past 15 years. While living in England we spent several Christmases and New Years with them. We always have a wonderful time. They love good food and enjoy a good bottle of wine or two.

Konstanz is always a busy little town, this summer it was buzzing with tourists who come to the lake area to holiday. What is so nice about many of these towns is that the old city area has been turned into a walking area with many streets and alleyways that have wonderful shops and boutiques with many restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating.

Highlights of our visit was going to the Rosgartenmuseum to see an exhibit on the Council of Constance held from 1414 to 1418, 600 years ago. Check out this link

Putting it on the map

We stopped at a beer garden on the lake for lunch and I got one of our favorite lunches. The pictures below are for my brother Chuck and our dad who always enjoyed a good German wurst salad.
